M'luru: Graduate teachers graduation day held at St Aloysius BEd College

Mangaluru, Apr 13: The 9th graduation day of St Aloysius BEd College, here was held at the college auditorium on Tuesday April 12 for the graduate teachers who have passed out in the 2014-15 batch. The function commenced with an academic procession to the auditorium. The principal Dr Farita Viegas welcomed the gathering. 






























The chief-guest Dr A M Khan, registrar (evaluation), Mangalore University delivered the inaugural address. In his speech he said St Aloysius College Institutions have unique features in the spectrum of education. He expressed a deep sense of admiration towards the inputs of the BEd College and its management which have been able to create able and dynamic teachers needed by society. He concluded his speech by stressing on excellence in small and big tasks, but not to remain confined within the comfortable zone.
   
Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, rector, St Aloysius College Institutions delivered the presidential address. He said graduation day is a commencement day- beginning of a new phase of life. Today the responsibilities of the teacher are to train the children who are ready to invent new things. A teacher's job is not merely to give information, but to transform the whole being of the child. He also invited the graduate teachers to become weapons of bringing about a change in society by making it a better place.

Fr Michael John SJ, director of the college appreciated the principal and the staff members for their hard work in securing 100% results in the BEd degree final examinations. He urged the graduate teachers to carry on the legacy of the Jesuit education.

After handing over of the marks cards to the graduate teachers the rector administered the oath to be honest in the discharge of their duties and to be of service towards the good of young minds. During this occasion the college staff felicitated the outgoing rector, Fr Denzil Lobo SJ and college director Michael John SJ recognizing their selfless service to the college over the years and the college newsletter Aloysian Chronicles was released. The graduation day function dissolved with the college anthem.
