Udupi: Accident takes away life of petty shop owner

Udupi, Apr 20: Owner of a petty shop in Kaup, identified as Gudda Suvarna (70), who was a resident of Kambalakatte in Enagudde village, died in an accident which occurred on the night of Monday April 18.

The accident occurred at Katapadi forest gate. A motor bike hit Suvarna and caused his death before speeding away.

Gudda Suvarna was operating a petty shop by the side of national highway opposite former state minister, the late Vasant Salian's home at Kaup. He was waiting for a bus to go to Udupi on Monday night, when a motor bike that was moving towards the city knocked him down.

Suvarna, who collapsed to the ground, was immediately taken to a hospital at Manipal. The doctors there, who conducted tests, declared him brought dead.
