Kasargod, Apr 26: A woman, who was recuperating after childbirth, jumped from the hospital building and lost her life. The incident occurred on Monday April 25, reportedly on account of post delivery depression.
Simi (31), wife of Ramdas from Alami Palli in Hosdurg lost her life in this incident. She jumped down from the fifth floor of Pariyaram Medical College Hospital on Monday morning and suffered grave injuries. She was provided with immediate treatment, but she did not survive.
Simi had been admitted into the district government hospital on April 20. She had given birth to a female baby the same day. Thereafter, she suffered from bleeding, after which she was shifted to Pariyaram Medical College Hospital on Thursday. The doctors said that post delivery depression was the reason for this tragic incident.
