Karkala: Man accused of holding illegal stock of explosives sentenced

Karkala, Apr 29: Kerala-based entrepreneur, T K Biju, who was accused of holding stock of explosives and selling them illegally, was awarded six months simple imprisonment and fined Rs 2,000 by the court of the second additional civil judge and JMFC here.

 

The accused reportedly had held huge stock of explosives in his plantation at Nandaru in Kaduhole, Marne, and also in a rented home at Maitrinagera on Joduraste Kukkundoor. The stock of explosives was unearthed during a raid conducted by the then sub-inspector of rural police station here, B S Satish.

The police personnel, who arrested Biju, had filed case and produced the accused in the court.

Additional assistant public prosecutor, Jagadish Krishna Jali appeared on behalf of the prosecution in this case. Judge of the said court, Mahajan R A, who conducted proceedings, passed the above judgement.
