Mangaluru, May 6: A senior citizen consumed poison and committed suicide near Kotipadavu late night on Wednesday May 4. Relating to this incident, a report stands filed in Ullal police station.

The victim has been identified as Boutish D'Souza alias Baptist D'Souza (63), a resident of Vogga Bambila. He ended his life near the parental home of his wife.

Reportedly, Boutish was heavily addicted to liquor. He had severed all connections with the family of his in-laws many years back. His wife, two sons, and two daughters had built a house of their own by the side of his wife's parental home near Kotipadavu. All of them were living there, while Boutish continued to live at Vogga.

Three years back, Boutish had visited his wife and children. After a gap of three years, he had visited them again a couple of days back. His body was found lying on the road near the house of his wife on Thursday morning. It is guessed that he would have mixed poison with water before consuming it.

A case about this incident was filed in Konaje police station.
