Udupi, May 17: Local people here allege that soil and stones out of KMC construction site behind Vijayanagara colony, Kodi have filled and closed the lake and drinking water well.
With it the valuable source of water for the people has vanished. Besides the soil, contaminated water has got mixed with it. Farming may have to be stopped here due to the developments.
Jyothi, a resident from here had complained about it to a municipal council member but the official did not taken action. The officials do not even act when a tree falls in the rain. There can also be floods
here during monsoon as the drain is also closed. Locals Rajesh, Nithyananda and Vitala have said that KMC should not throw mud on their lives.
It is ironical that KMC which saves the lives of people after taking money throws mud on the lives of others.
