Bantwal: Man cutting branches falls down with tree, dies

Bantwal, May 20: A person, who had climbed a tree for cutting its branches, fell down as the tree got uprooted because of strong wind, and lost his life. This unfortunate incident occurred at Kadambu within Vitlapadnur village on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sesappa Poojary (48), a resident of Bedrakadu near Kadambu.

Poojary was cutting branches of a tree near his home as he needed greens for his garden, when strong wind blew in the area. Unable to withstand the wind, the tree fell to the ground with Poojary. He had suffered extensive injuries, and therefore, was immediately taken to a private hospital at Vittal. However, he was found to have died before hospital staff could attend to him.

Vittal police sub-inspector, Prakash Devadiga, revenue officials and other personnel visited the spot, conducted verification, and registered a case.
