Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, May 26: Karnataka governor, Vajubhai Vala, who has received recommendation from the government to appoint present Bangalore Development Authority commissioner, Sham Bhat, as the chairman of Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), has reportedly written to the Lokayukta registrar, seeking information about the charges relating to which Bhat was subjected to scrutiny by the Lokayukta in the past.

Even as the governor received recommendation to appoint Bhat as KPSC chairman, several social service organizations urged him not to accept this recommendation, citing that Bhat was facing certain specific charges.

In this background, the governor has written to the Lokayukta registrar, seeking the purpose for which Bhat was subjected to investigation, charges levelled against him, nature of charges and their seriousness etc.
