Mangaluru, May 29: Water level at Thumbay vented dam, on which the city and surrounding areas are dependent for water, rose to ten feet on Saturday with regular inflow of water. The city corporation officials said that with this much water, there will not be any problem for water in the city for the next 15 days.

Official in the water supply department in the city corporation, Naresh Shenoy, said that inflow of water has improved due to rainfall in catchment areas of the river. He revealed that water is being supplied to agriculturists, industries, Ullal, and Mulky areas without any hitch since the last three days, and that the citizens of the city are also getting tap water on a daily basis.

Since the last two days, the district has been experiencing cloudy climate. Other than light drizzle here and there during the night or early mornings, no rainfall has been reported. The temperature has gone up and on Saturday the city recorded 33 degree centigrade. The meteorological department too has predicted sunny and cloudy weather and light drizzle to continue in the coming week.
