Karkala: One dies after car hits boulder at Nakre

Karkala, May 29: After the driver lost control over the Maruti Wagon-R car he was driving on Saturday May 28, the car hit a boulder, resulting in the death of one of the occupants of the car. The accident occurred at Nakre Padya in Kukkundoor village near here.

The car was carrying to Udupi some people who had attended a house warming ceremony. The deceased has been identified as Sadanand Suvarna (67), resident of Ambalpady near Udupi. The others in the car escaped without any major injuries.

Suvarna's wife, Varija (60), Mahesh (45), Supreet (35), and Manasa (13) suffered minor injuries in this incident.

The car was carrying five persons including the driver. The car was moving at high speed when it hit the boulder, it is said. Reason for the accident is not clear. A case about the incident was filed in town police station here.
