I will never let the country walk on wrong path: PM Modi

Davanagere, May 29 (PTI): In an apparent reply those questioning his government's performance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said his two-year dispensation had initiated over 700 schemes and even if some tasks remain undone, "I will not let the nation go on the wrong path".

Addressing a public meeting here as part of 'vikas parv' (development festival) on completion of two years of his government, he asserted that he would "never go on the path of sins" as he charged that the previous government had "yielded" to pressure from various lobbies, including diesel and petrol ones.

Slamming the critics who "started questioning his work" even when he had not seen my office properly, Modi said his government's programmes are mostly for the benefit of farmers and poor people, besides ending the role of middlemen, including in jobs.

"My government had not completed even one week in office and some people started questioning its work. We were asked to give account. There are some people in this country who talk of democracy but don't believe in the government elected by the people. They cannot digest (NDA coming to power). They wonder where from I came. I have come from this land, from among you," he said.

"Whatever I have done during the last two years has been for the welfare of the people only. Some people say Modi does not do big things," he said.

Accusing the previous government of "extending big favours" to few people, Modi asked, "should I commit the same sin? Should I go on the wrong path? When you have blessed me, there is no need for me to go on that path of sin. Even if one or two things remain undone, I will not let the nation go on the wrong path."

His remarks come against the backdrop of continuous criticism and questioning by Congress and some other parties over his government's performance.

He enlisted a number of programmes initiated in various fields and said a "change" can be felt in the country and that he wanted to take the country to new heights for which he required people's support.

He mentioned various schemes for the farmers like Crop Insurance and Irrigation scheme, talked about programmes like opening of bank accounts for the poor and insurance schemes for them as well as his endeavour to give LPG connections to five crore poor people over the next three years.

He also talked about his government's effort to ensure early payment of dues by sugar mills to sugarcane farmers and launch of E-platform to enable farmers to sell their produce online anywhere in the country for a better price.

The Prime Minister also spoke about scrapping of about 1200 "obsolete" laws and doing away with the requirement of interview for Class III and IV government jobs.

There is no need for Modi to let the country 'WALK' on wrong path. His policies will 'PUSH' the country on wrong path. The less he speaks greater will be his popularity. The more he speaks the more his pseudonym as "FEKU MODI" sticks to him.

The great Home Minister Mr. Singh, proud son of UP is now telling that the people of UP are not greatly concerned with the Ram Temple construction at Ayodhya.

On December 6th 1992, over 2000 lives were wiped off from the world in a matter of hours from both religions, Hinduism and Islam.

Anju Gupta, one police officer in charge of security of Advani stated that the speeches of Advani and Mulali Manohar Joshi were highly provocative which created an inferno at the mindset of the listeners. Both of those patrons of the BJP are taking rest, perhaps enjoying the fun of the bloodshed on that day from a safe distance. Uma Bharti is a cabinet Minister, she was one of the three, didn't play a very strong role to provoke the audience.

The Rata Yatra and the destruction of the Mosque at Ayodha, the so called birth location of Lord Rama was a well planned human killing political strategy of the BJP to arouse the slpeeing religious fire works in the hearts of the short-tempered religious fanatics.

Who lost? Advani-Murali Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti had no scratch anywhere in their body. Whether Ayodhya or Godhra, the blind followers shed their own blood and others as well as pushing their families in to the hell for ever.

There were class war through the communist influence in India. But the massive bloodshed triggered by no other party since independence like the BJP and her sister parties have undertaken.

Mr. Modi has to apologize to the 177 million Muslims of India, the second largest Muslim populated country in the world, that it was a politically triggerd mass murder.

If your statement " I will never let the country walk on the wrong path" is genuine and honest, as a moral responsibility, you have an obligation to tell that very openly.

Why your God-sent savior is repeating in throwing mud at the Congress party in every turn. Is he talking the future or touching the history? You and your party have the monopolistic right to repeat the history to fit the occasion, but I don't have the right to repeat history.

Destroying the Mosque-blood bath of the 2000 people, and hurting the feeling of the Muslim community of India and around the world by the patrons of the BJP was indeed a cruel fun in shedding the blood, simply through digging the bygone history. Do you agree with that?

No one is perfect and we elect our government for better governance and in this regard Modi's goverment came to power. After ruling the country for decades the Congress was dysfunctional and it was a right move to get Modi.

What I find funny is that a group of people hyper critical of Modi - some readers comments bring in Modi even for articles not directly relate to him.

While its a fundamental right of every citizen to air their criticism - We need to understand that Congress government of the " past" was not taken to task in a similar way. Where were those criticisms then?

Some of the criticisms do seem to go overboard- no beginning and no end or no connection. Our critique should be constructive and should be towards accountability of good governance. Baseless, unconnected venom against Modi - indicates utter ignorance serves to shoot bullets into thin air. When this happens the bullets fall on themselves or get unintended results. Spewing venom comes out of "Hate" which is self defeating.

The trouble mongers in your onw party are more dangerous to communal harmony of the country than anybody else. Also stop bhashans and blame gaming/pin pointing others. Indians have elected you to work for them and solve their problem and not for this nonsense. If you forget this and spend your time in these useless activities, Indians will show you the same way that they showed to congress. Some of the Congis in the state are still doing that, the matter is that whether they will still be elected in 2018 if they continue this nonsense
