Bengaluru, May 31: Upa Lokayukta of the state, Justice Subhash B Adi, reported for duty at the Lokayukta office on Monday May 30. As further processes over the resolution to unseat him were withdrawn by assembly speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, in pursuance of a report of Justice R B Budihal Committee which absolved Justice Adi of all the charges previously levelled.

Pending decision over the move to remove him, Justice Adi had gone on leave from March 3 onwards. After he came to the office at 11 am on Monday, he was accorded warm welcome by various individuals, colleagues at his office, and organizations.

Earlier, Justice Adi had questioned the move of the assembly speaker admitting resolution to unseat him from his position. The high court had dismissed it. He had later approached the Supreme Court against this decision.

Admitting that the state government has since divested Lokakyukta of much of its powers, Adi said he always believes that the institution is bigger than the individual. He promised to work as in the past by undertaking district visits. He dismissed news making rounds about his possible resignation as baseless rumour.
