Mangaluru: Sand mafia beats up youth black-and-blue, police 'inaction' alleged

Daijiworld Media Network-Mangaluru

Mangaluru, May 31: A youth, who was allegedly beaten up by more than fourteen persons, has been admitted to a hospital in city.

Irshad from Kannur is the person injured.

As per the details available, Irshad was pulled out from a bus by a gang of fourteen persons and was beaten up with rods and sticks on May 28 at Kannur. Irshad is a coolie worker. It is alleged that the sand mafia has some grudge against him for his objection on sand mining.

A case stands registered at Mangaluru rural police station.

Muneer Katipalla from Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), speaking to Daijiworld said “It is very sad to see the young man still in the hospital as he was beaten up badly. The culprits have been booked under section 104 which is bailable offence while they were supposed to be booked for attempt to murder. DYFI condemns the law enforcement agency conniving with sand mafia. We have already submitted a petition to police commissioner Chandra Shekar who is known as honest and sincere. If the justice is not done in the case, we will go for a intense protest."

Irshad Bhai, sorry to see you state. Whoever involved in this heinous act whether it's Hindu, Muslim, Christian, BD, ISIS or whatever group it can be should be caught and should be given serious imprisonment for this in-human act. See this is what's happening in DK. Political parties ignite fire to fight among fellow citizens who live in harmony, while politics are working round for vote bank.
Stop this atrocity guys.... Today this has happened to Irshad. Tomorrow it can happen at anybody. We should unite and fight against this kind of atrocity.

Look at how badly this guy is beaten, with gods grace he is still alive after going through such pain.
Sand mining has been a case of concern, and also a reason for water depletion. Ministers should come forward to stop these illegal activities. all parties should join hands to stop this menace.

    No excuse. Dear commissioner Sir,
Please take advantage of their influence support and beat up for small mistake or no mistake at all.(one classic example is this) . Be it a small accident, scratch to other influential persons vehicle, Small dispute. People just take law into their hands. This is a form of terror, safety and social issue for the innocent law abiding people. IF this is not nipped in the bud .Will magnify. Please take very strict action against the culprits not only in this case many others which may not be in media . Your police dept may know. So that innocent people have some support from law and police dept. And a sense of security.

How cruel the people are . Mr Rangacharaki do not make fun of this issue. Show some humanity ! Who ever it is , whatever region they belong to,strict action would initiate against them. Police should treat them with aero-plane treatment.
