Pejawar, Shiroor seers, speaker Kagodu sympathize with police

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (RJP/SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 1: Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math in Udupi, Lakshmivara Theertha Swamiji of Shiroor Math and state assembly speaker Kagodu Thimmappa, in their reactions to the protest planned by police personnel, have responded sympathetically to their woes.

All these three persons have said that the government should respond to the demands of the police personnel who have decided to protest by way of mass leave on June 4 to register their anger at government's reluctance to consider their demands including pay parity.

Pejawar Swamiji speaking to reporters in Udupi said "The police personnel who have the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the state should withdraw the proposed strike. At the same time the government should listen to the demands of police and close the issue.”

Shiroor Math Swamiji said that the chief minister should listen to the police personnel and address their woes." They work day and night to maintain peace in the state. Karnataka police are known for honesty and duty consciousness. If the government does not meet their demands, Shiroor Math will support the stir by the police personnel.”

Kagodu Thimmappa speaking to media persons in Shivamogga said that the police face several problems. He felt that there is a need to look into their genuine grievances and address them. "The government should not delay matters. It should intervene in the matter and hold talks with police personnel. The problems should be addressed before June 4. Steps like creation of pay panel should be undertaken," he felt.

About the system of orderlies attending to house chores in houses of higher police officers prevalent in the department, he opined that police officers should not utilize services of police constables for their personal and house work.

FIRST OF ALL SSLC QUALIFICATION IS NOT ENOUGH FOR POLICE PERSONNEL POST. MOST OF THEM DO NOT KNOW THE LAW. THEY ACT AS 'TALIBANIS' AS WE COME TO THEM TO LODGE A COMPLAINT. THEY BEG FOR MONEY(CORRUPTION) ALWAYS. FIRST STOP ALL THESE NON-SENSE THINGS THEY ARE DOING. BRING A FULL CONTROL ON THESE BAD THINGS, AFTER THAT ONLY CONSIDER THEIR DEMAND.

The Police department like the soldiers is the lowest paid. They do not get holidays since they have to be always ready for emergency situations. Besides, there is a shortage of police personnel. There are instances where police men have shot their superiors out of work stress. Because of low pay they resort to corruption. It is nice that the Swamijis have taken up their cause. They must persevere and see that the police get their due. May God bless their struggle for justice.

Nobody has forced them to join the police force. They were well aware of the salary structure and benefits of the position. They joined the position only because it is govt job and they can earn good under the table money being a policeman.

There are lot of unemployed youth in the state who can do the job sincerely without being corrupt for the same salary what they are getting.

If they think the salary and benefits are enough for their job and think they have the capacity to earn better then this then they should resign the job and give the opportunity to the youth of the country.

    Dear Prashanth, Bangalore.
same policy can applicable for reservation also.

"There are lot of unemployed youth in the state who can do the job sincerely" and with out any reservation, then y govt is selecting under educated / unprofessional / unqualified in name of reservation???

Hope every one supported Patels and Jhats protest in Gujarat and Haryana for reservation.

    Why????
When a poor General Public can pay specified fees to school, Why a rich Minority or SC/ST need not to pay same mount???

Why there is no question on this?
Do you think there is no poor in Shetty / Brahmins / Konkani / Jain / Parsi???

If am not wrong even christians also dont get any reservation.

Krish ...Jains,shettys,Parsi's and Konkanis are beneficiary of reservation system or other govt benefits in Karnataka....educate yourself ..Coming to Brahmins...although there are poor Brahmins...Much of the Brahmins still lead the country and are much ahead in terms of political representation, education, income with respect to general population...There are some backward Brahmin caste in Karnataka who still enjoy reservation benefits
Christians too get reservation along with digambar Jain's and bunts in Karnataka,Muslims gets reservation even Hindus and Buddhist are beneficiary of reservation of system...Those who speak against reservation system are one of the first beneficiary of reservation system in past...No wealthy people can claim reservation system that is why the system of creamy layer was instituted...
Only those who void of reasoning will compare and support reservation of Jats and Patels ..These community are politically,Socially, economically strong and holds lot of power...you can't compare them to SC/ST...They can bring a central govt to their knees don't think SC/St or other communities holds such power and influence...Even SC doesn't entertain politics on reservation...whatever reservation system govt has introduced for political compulsion it has scrapped down including recent Jat agitation

your statement made me to think that since 40 year u stopped reading news paper.

Because Many swamys, Priest of Church as well as Mosque giving statement on Political on goings.

In many states Fatwa issued for election.

And more over If a Politician can give statement on religious things, why not a religious person cant give political statement?

U mean to say a politician can give statement on any field, but Other professional from other field should not give statement on Political issues?

And big question, why media ask this question with SWAMIJI, if they dnt want statement from him??????

Swamijis showing the sign of Public concern is good to see. But why Kagodu is poking nose in the middle is all understood. Congress cannot be defeated by other parties. But it is looses because of inner fights. Time and again it is proved.
