Kundapur, Jun 1: In a bizarre incident, a milking cow was allegedly buried alive after tying its legs for entering in another person’s land at Kundabarandadi of Hakladi gram panchayat limits.

Police arrested the land owner Gangappa (39) resident of Bagalakote Beelagi in this connection.

The incident occurred near the shed of Parameshwara Ganiga who has bought land at Kolkebailu, Kundabarandadi. The milking cow belonging to Kariyamma Poojarthi, resident of Kolooru Nencharu had gone for grazing on Tuesday morning, May 31 as usual and did not return in the evening. 

Kariyamma Poojarthi and others went searching for it, but did not find. Finally when they reached near the shed belonging to Parameshwara Ganiga, they spotted a hole which was newly dug and covered. When they dug the hole they saw the face of the cow. When they screamed, local people came rushing and found the cow buried under mud.

Locals said that the cow was alive when it was lifted out.

As the matter came to light, villagers gathered and shouted slogans against the owner of the land.

Gangolli police arrived at the place and diluted the situation.

The owner of the cow complained to Gangolli police station. Police after registering the complaint arrested worker Gangappa, the principal accused in the case.
