Bantwal: Unique start to academic year at Mani Balavikasa School

Bantwal, Jun 2: The new academic year 2016-17 at Mani Balavikasa English medium School was inaugurated among welcome extended with Kalasha, guidance by the elders, singing and skits on Thursday, June 2.

The management of the school, teachers, children and parents participated in the inaugural ceremony. Students of LKG and newly admitted 106 children were brought in procession from the highway. The scene of the teachers and co teachers bringing the children to the school area drew attention.

School convener J Prahalada Shetty lit the traditional lamp. Speaking on the occasion, he said that all the students and the parents are being looked after equally in the school. “All the necessary facilities are being provided to students so that they may receive value based education. The cooperation of parents too is important. The SSLC students have recorded excellent results last year; the cooperation of parents and teachers in it are commendable,” he said.

Parent teacher association president Balakrishna Alva speaking on the occasion, called on students to involve in extracurricular activities along with studies. School administrator C Sridhar in his key note address stressed on the cooperation of the management, teachers, parents and students in the progress of the school.

School management committee president B S Naik, secretary Narayana Shetty, stage director Mounesh Vishwakarma, parent teacher association vice president Laxmi teacher, primary school headmistress Grace P Saldanha, High school headmistress Vijayalaxmi were present.

Teachers Mohini A Rai welcomed. Anitha Gauri proposed Vote of thanks. Akshatha compered the programme.

Bharatha Natya and skits were presented later in the programme.
