Acting on girl’s complaint, Kundapur police arrested the accused Sharath Devadiga (22). He is an auto driver who allegedly pretended to love the girl and developed physical relationship with her and later refused to marry.

Sharath Devadiga is said to be a resident of Kalavara, near Koteshwara, Kundapur taluk.

The girl, resident of a village near Koteshwar has no parents and lives with her uncle. She is educated and working in a printing press to earn a living.

It is learnt that she met Sharath Devadiga, an auto driver on the way to and fro her work place. Their friendship turned to love after a few days. Later, Sharath promised to marry her and forced her into physical relationship.

Sharath was acting suspiciously with the girl since the beginning. He had no intention to have marital relationship with her. Therefore, he was looking for an excuse to desert her. He forcibly sent her to Gokak near Belgaum and prepared a story that she has a relationship with somebody else there and refused to marry her.
