Alleged attack on pilgrims by Bajrang Dal activists creates tension in Beltangady

Daijiworld Media Network - Beltangady (SP)

Beltangady, Jun 3: It is said that six young pilgrims from Chikkamagaluru, who had come to fulfill religious vows at Kajoor Dargah, came under the attack of some local Bajrang Dal activists. Reportedly, the pilgrims were taking bath in River Netravati at Kajoor Kolli when the gang approached them, took umbrage at bathing at the Devara Gundi holy spot, and assaulted them. The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday June 2.

When the young men from neighbouring district were washing themselves in the river when on their way back, they were attacked all of a sudden. The attackers left, duly warning the men not to approach the police, it is claimed.

After the locals got information about this assault, they got the victims admitted into the government hospital in the town. A complaint was made at the police station here. After the incident, the situation in Kajoor Kolli area turned tense. Senior police officers including superintendent of police, deputy superintendent of police etc visited the spot. Additional police forces were deployed. Situation is under control as of now.

What kind of religious vows they had to fulfil in a Dargah.?
What was the necessity to have a bath in the river.
You are inviting trouble and knowingly fall for it.
There is only one place of pilgrimage, and that's it. If you cannot afford to go for one, then be humble, caring to your spouse, parents. That's better than going to a Dargah..

Trespassing of cow is objected and more than two comments started to pour-in. Likewise entering other's home and ransack by looting is also be condemned subsuqently. India never invaded neighbouring countries more than 1000 years. When mughals attacked our place and changed according to there wish..definitely problem arise after many years. It's what happened now. People won't sit quiet. Will take back places which snatched earlier.

What do you mean India never invaded neigbouring country.
"During the reign of Rajaraja Chola I and his successors Rajendra Chola I, Virarajendra Chola and Kulothunga Chola I the Chola armies invaded Sri Lanka, the Maldives and some parts of Southeast Asia like Malaysia, Indonesia and Southern Thailand[65] of the Srivijaya Empire in the 11th century. Rajaraja Chola I launched several naval campaigns that resulted in the capture of Sri Lanka, Maldives and the Malabar Coast.[66]

In 1025, Rajendra Chola launched naval raids on ports of Srivijaya and against the Burmese kingdom of Pegu,[67] and conquered parts of Srivijaya in Malaysia and Indonesia and the Tambralinga kingdom in Southern Thailand and occupied it for some time.[68] A second invasion was led by Virarajendra Chola, who conquered Kedah in Malaysia of Srivijaya in the late 11th century.
And as recently as 1975 India annexed Sikkim which was a Independent country.
Nothing wrong about it and no need to hide facts.

Indians didn't invade other countries coz they feared crossing sea as a taboo, apart from few south Indian kings which marched out of this country for expedition much of the Indian kings feared crossing their boundary.....You shouldn't blame central Asian turks,Persians ,afghans invading the country in past or Europeans they dint have such restrictions...So they used it as opportunity.....If you are really worried of past and the mughals..Mughals came from Uzbekistan..Their hero babar is still hailed in present day Uzbekistan.....Even our P.M visited this tiny country a year ago...you could have requested your concerns of mughals then....If your are really worried of name place being changed like jamalabad in past worry of the present trend in tulunadu where tulu village names and named and replaced with Sanskrit nagars ..it is not a joke...well I am comfortable with any languages but I feel sad when a language is killed not by some invading armies but by the same people who speaks it

there could be many reasons here... first thing, it's mentioned as Devara Gundi holy spot they were washing / bathing. If it's true and the group while adviced to move away, their response would have been reluctance kind of ..which could have opened up the argument or attack. because now a days we know..nobody likes to be advised... even though they are wrong... or it's simply made as a big issue... or it's by a smaller local group and bajrang dal name is used... so can not derive anything just like that...
