Udupi: Hit by motor bike, pedestrian loses life

Udupi, Jun 3: In an accident which occurred on national highway 66 near Nittur here on Thursday June 2 morning, a pedestrian, who was knocked down by a motor bike, lost his life on the spot.

The deceased was Govindappa (42), native of Davanagere, who was working as coolie and staying at Nittur. Nitin Acharya from Yadthady, who was riding the motor bike, sustained serious injuries. He is being treated at a hospital. Ujwal from Herady, who was riding the pillion, escaped with minor injuries.

It is said that Nitin and Ujwal, who are friends, were going to Nitte in motor bike from Brahmavar to collect application for seeking admission into Nitte college, when this accident occurred.
