Bhatkal, Jun 4: Bhatkal Honnavara Vidhana Sabha constituency MLA Mankalu Vaidya said that the sting operation with regard to a case of demanding money in Rajya Sabha elections was an attempt to humiliate him.

He stated that his name was added below the video scenes of people speaking on the subject. “I have not spoken to anyone demanding money. Anybody is welcome to verify the video or audio recording in this connection. Let them confirm that the person speaking was me. People should know the purpose of spreading lies,” he said.

“It is true that a woman had spoken to me on phone two days ago regarding Rajya Sabha election. But I have spoken nothing to her on the matter. I have assured nothing. Let her produce if she has records of conversation in this regard. I challenge to submit my resignation if proven guilty. As I received information that my name was publicized in newspapers and TV, I have asked people to verify as I am not the person in the video. Some of them have assured that they will rectify it. It is not fair to send wrong message to people,” he explained.
