People-friendly officer Kudligi DySP Anupama Shenoy resigns from post

Daijiworld Media Network - Ballari (SP)

Ballari, Jun 5: Deputy superintendent of police (DySP) of Kudligi in the district, Anupama Shenoy, who was known as an upright, efficient and people-friendly officer, resigned from her post on SaturdayJune 4. Reportedly, the decision to resign from job was triggered by an incident which occurred during FridayJune 3 night.

The officer was approached by some Dalits, who complained that the owner of a bar in Kudligi was constructing a building which would block the path to Ambedkar Bhavan. Based on this complaint, Anupama, it is said, summoned Bar owner, Rajanikanth, and his associates, Ravi and Krishnamurthy, to the station and warned them against getting involved with illegal construction.

Reportedly, these persons wield enormous influence. Soon they complained to the director general of police of the state, superintendent of police, and others, claiming to have been tortured by Anupama. On Saturday, some organizations including a few which espouse the cause of Veerashaiva community, held protest in front of her office. It is said that pained by these unwarranted developments, the police officer tendered her resignation.

It is not known whether she came under fire from the top police brass and whether this influenced her decision to leave the police force. State labour minister, P T Parameshwara Naik, who happens to be the district in-charge minister fo the district, and who was in the eye of storm a few months ago involving this police officer, feigned ignorance about this development.

Anupama's family members living at Uchchila near Padubidri, Udupi district, said they were unable to establish contact with her. District superintendent of police, R Chetan, said that the DySP's resignation had not been accepted as yet and that he would be visiting Kudligi to get to the root of the issue. Other than the fact that three persons had been questioned at Kudligi station, he said he has no other information.

State BJP general secretary, C T Ravi, said that the fact that Anupam Shenoy was forced to quit has given a clear signal that honest officers cannot survive under Congress rule.

Stop commenting about the resignation of sincere, efficient, upright and honest Kudligi DySP Anupama Shenoy. As long as these dirty politicians are there,we cannot expect anything from them except this revenge politics.Honest people do not have place to work under these rogues. No justice.By hook or crook all the politicians want to mint money and amass wealth by illegal means like this. They even go to the extent of murder of any person they don't like or come in their illegal path. How can these politicians serve the state, nation and people of the state, nation? Shame on all the political leaders regardless of their party affiliation.Very sorry Madam, your sincerity, efficiency didn't work out here and didn't give any dividend. But definitely Truth will have its share one day and will win. These are obstacles, hurdles in our way of success,we have to cross it patiently.Don't worry, you will definitely deserved to be honoured and respected everything for what have done and shown to the people.May God bless you

Very poor arguement. One wrong does not make another wrong right. The reason why politicians ride on us is we do not question them if they belong to party we support. Only when we question them irrespective of party we common people can live

It is proved that in this current circumstances honest people do not place to work. In fact that I was already anticipated from last incident ( Sri Parameshwar Naik, Labour minister ) this is going to happen. Our politician are experts in taking revenge who does not listen them. Today is "Revenge politics" era irrespective of any political party. In back ground they work, they will not involve directly and immediately after they achieving their goal, they will show ignorance.
