Woman from Bantwal dies in accident at Dammam, family critical

Bantwal, Jun 6: Bantwal taluk Manchi grama Kukkaje resident woman has died and her husband and her two children are seriously injured in a road accident that occurred at Garia, Dammam, Saudi Arabia on Sunday morning, June 5.

Umaima (37) is the deceased woman. Her husband Razak (40), children Arifa (18) and Muhad (9) have been seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to Dammam hospital. Their condition is said to be critical.


Abdul Razak couple has been staying in Saudi Arabia for the last several years. They had come to hometown a year ago and returned. Their two children are staying and studying in the home town, had gone to Saudi Arabia to visit their parents two months ago due to annual vacation.

The children were preparing to return to Bantwal as the schools were reopened. They had been to shopping when their car hit the road divider causing the accident.

The car has been crushed in the impact of the accident. Umaima died on the spot. Her husband and children are undergoing treatment at the intensive care unit of the hospital. It is said that the car was being driven by Abdul Razak.

    Was the driver reversing the car in which movement it hit the divider (??) Because, the rear of the car seems to have been smashed, not the front. Never know - in land of limited justice to expatriates, the case can be twisted any way !

    When he hit the divider he must be at high speed say 120kmph (which is common & legal in Saudi), high chances that car swings 180 degree and any part including backside may get crushed.
