Kundapur, Jun 6: A man accidentally fell into a well at Kundabarandadi of Hakladi grama panchayat in Gangolli police station limits here. The body was retrieved from the well on Sunday, June 5.

The deceased is Hakladi Panganahitlu Melbettu resident Krishna alias Kushta Poojary(45).

There is a protection-less open well belonging to Kundabarandadi resident Anthi Poojarthy here and it is assumed that Krishna slipped and fell in the well. The well is about 35 feet deep with water between one feet and two feet. There is stone slab foundation deep down the well and it is said that he might have died after hitting it.

Only Anthi Poojarthy and her younger daughter are staying in her house. It is possible that Krishna has fallen in the well two or three days ago. The body was seen when they peeped in the well after a chick fell in it.

Krishna is married and his wife is staying in the house of her parents at Basrur. Krishna Poojary's younger sister and her husband were staying with him. Krishna Poojary was an alcoholic and was depressed that he had no children. The path to the market is close to the well. It is assumed that Krishna fell in the well while walking on the path.

Gangolli police and Kundapur fire brigade arrived at the place and lifted the dead body. A police case has been registered in Gangolli police station.
