Mangaluru, Jun 6: The protesters including the family member of late Vinayak Baliga who tried to protest in front of Mangaluru south MLA JR Lobo's house were arrested and released on Monay, June 6.

The protest rally began from Jyothi Circle and when it reached the junction next to J R Lobo's office it was stopped by the Kadri police and the protesters were taken to the police station.

During the arrest a push-pull situation arose as the DYFI members led by Muneer Kaatipalla showed resistance for the arrest.

Speaking in the police station premises after the release Prof Narendra Nayak accused that there is a large Mafia operating to protect Naresh Shenoy and he is just like the tip of the Iceberg. "The mafia is operating from Kerala and many murders have taken place across the country including Baliga's murder. A homeopathy college is run in the name of a bogus trust and many big names of the society are involved in this. We will extend our fight to Kerala. Delhi and other places so that culprits are arrested and justice is served to Baliga's family."

Vinayak Baliga's sister Usha said "Even though JR Lobo and U T Khader visited our house and expressed sympathy. they have not pressurized the state government for Naresh Shenoy's arrest. And today when we thought of speaking to the MLA ,we have been arrested for no reason."

Muneer Katipalla accused the state government of protecting Naresh Shenoy and pressurizing police to reduce the pace of investigation. "It looks like the home minister is showing sympathy to Naresh Shenoy. The state government is directly involved in protecting Naresh even though it has been two months since Baliga's murder. We will not stop our protest until the murderers are arrested." he said.

The police had made adequate security arrangements at and around J R Lobo's house. But the police did not want to take any chance, stopped the rally at a place few meters away from the MLA's house.

DYFI dirtrict president Dayanand Shetty, DSS leader M Devdas and orthers were present.

Allow law to take its course. MLAs cannot interfere with the course of justice. The point is made clear by the agitators to apprehend the culprits, now let the law enforcement authorities do the needful.

Have great regards for Mr JR Lobo, but in this instance his silence on the case appears to show a motive! As an elected representative, Mr Lobo should have been proactive in getting law enforcement to lay traps to catch the rat! The same applies to Mr Nalin Kumar Kateel who seems to have done a 'La Dawood Ibrahim' on this case!!!
Mr Narendra Nayak we are with you and are confident you will get justice done!!!

    Dear Protesters
Your next destination should be Nalin Kumar house & then CT Ravi house. If it does not work, then niddeYurappa's house!
