Kundapur: Man falls into river while removing fishing net, dies

Kundapur, June 7: A man who had gone for fishing fell into Panchagangavali River at Gangolli Manganese road and died while he was removing the fishing net which had got stuck at the base of the river on Tuesday afternoon, June 7.


Rajesh Kharvi (36), originally from Bhatkal, who was staying in the house of his elder sister at Guddikeri is the person deceased. Onlookers have said that he fell into the river losing balance when he was trying to remove the fishing net.

Local fishermen rushed to his aid but he could not be saved.

A case stands registered in Gangolli police station. Gangolli sub inspector Subbanna visited the place and gathered details.
