Bengaluru, Jun 8: JDS, which had been hesitant in the matter of crushing the rebellion within the party circles, took a firm step in that direction by serving notice on MLA, Zameer Ahmed Khan. Party sources said that it has been decided initially to serve show cause notice on him, seeking to know why he should not be acted against under the provisions of Anti Defection law for announcing that he would be casting his vote in favour of Congress candidate as against the party's stand.

In the meanwhile, another rebel party MLA, Cheluvarayaswamy, has openly given a call to the voters not to cast their votes in favour of JDS candidate from southern graduates constituency to the legislative council. This has further aggravated the standoff between JDS top leadership and the faction that is up in arms against the leadership. In the meanwhile, activists of the party mobbed Cheluvarayaswamy and registered their anger. Speaking to media persons at Mandya travellers bungalow, he said he has asked his followers to vote for a winning candidate other than JDS candidate, K T Srikante Gowda, who has been carrying on anti-party activities since a decade.
