Subsidised kerosene, colouring chemicals seized at factory in Brahmavar

Udupi, Jun 8: Food and civil supply department conducted raid on Brahmavar West Coast Chemical Industries and seized 3,229 litres kerosene meant for public distribution.

Brahmavar tahasildar had received confirmed information that there was a network of turning the kerosene which was meant for public distribution into white and selling it at higher price. He directed the food and civil supply assistant director Yogishwar to conduct raid on Brahmavar West Coast Chemical Industries which is located on Brahmavar Hebri main road.

Accordingly the officials raided the industry and seized 22 barrels which contained 3,229 litres kerosene meant for public distribution. Gum and chemicals used for turning the kerosene into white have also been seized. The seized kerosene is worth Rs 1.28 lac, it is said.

Superintendent of food and civil supply department Vinay also participated in the raid.
