Madikeri, Jun 9: A van carrying students to school jumped into a precipice which was over 500 feet deep on Wednesday June 8. The five students in the van had a providential escape.
The van was moving from Kattalekadu on rural route via Maragodu village when it tumbled into the deep precipice by the edge of the road near Chettalli. The van nosedived into the precipice but stopped midway after getting stuck to a tree.
Some people who were passing by saw what had happened. They took pains to slowly get down to where the van was stuck, and rescue the five students. All the five students suffered grave injuries. They have been admitted into hospital.
