Bengaluru, Jun 11: A woman from Dr B R Ambedkar Nagar here, who was overcome by the sudden demise of her young husband, committed suicide after her husband's funeral.

Manikantha (24) and Chaitra (21) had loved each other for two years before marrying. They understood each other well and the family was happy. Suddenly, Manikantha was diagnosed with kidney failure. He had been admitted into hospital and discharged after treatment. Manikantha, who was depressed at the thought of having to battle it out with kidney failure all his life, hanged himself from the ceiling fan of his room on Wednesday June 8 night.

Manikantha's cremation was conducted at the electric crematorium at Banashankari in the city on Thursday. Chaitra had returned home after the funeral. She found it impossible to bear the agony of having to live without her beloved husband. On Thursday, she committed suicide by tying a noose and hanging herself from the ceiling fan her husband had used the previous day.

She also left a death note which said, 'Mama I Love You...I am coming to meet you. God, please pardon me for committing suicide'. Chaitra's parents, who went to the room a little while later found out what had happened. A case about the incident was filed in Banashankari police station here.
