Puttur: Man tries to rape school-going girls, stands arrested

Puttur, Jun 16: In an incident which occurred at Mura in Mogru village near here on Wednesday June 15, a man tried to rape two girls going to school and also posed life threat to them.

Both the girls were 16-year-old, and one among them belongs to scheduled tribe. Uppinangady police, who have registered the case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, have taken the accused into custody. The accused has been identified as Saleem (40), son of Abdurrahman from Alake in Tannirpantha village.

When the girls were going to school on Wednesday morning, Saleem reportedly obstructed them and tried to rape them. He also threatened them with murder if they revealed to their respective families about the incident, it is learnt.

    How far can we believe?Girls were 16years old and atleast one couldnt escape?a 40years man obstructing their way and tried to rape.Atleast they could have shouted.It might be true,but hard to believe here.

    not able to digest the story... yes, happens now a days. but a guy trying to rape 2 girls simultaneously... not able to realize. any ways, investigation will bring out the truth. sorry... may bring the truth out. now a days, that's also not so true.
