Congress donates bags, umbrellas to school children

Mangaluru, Jun 17: Mangaluru south Vidhana Sabha constituency Congress party and Youth Congress donated school bags and umbrellas to school children of Jeppinamogaru Government Higher Primary School on June 16.
























Mangaluru south block MLA J R Lobo who spoke after participating as chief guest, said that Congress which has laid a strong foundation for the country has taken up programmes as these to strengthen the children's generation. “It is possible to hold such programmes if the school development committee and teachers maintain a good rapport with local people. It is not enough if the teachers alone take up the
responsibility of children. Parents too should join hands with them. With that, we can expect a good future for the children,” he said.

Congress district president Mithun Rai and businessman John Suresh took up the responsibility of laying tiles for the school floor. Corporator Pravin Chandra Alva and Congress leader Herbert D'Souza distributed free umbrellas and school bags.

Congress leaders Umesh Chandra, Prabhakara Sriyan, Balakrishna Shetty, T K Sudhir, Sadashiva Ameen, Karunakara Shetty, Sudhakara, Sridhar Shetty, Jeevan Cutinho, Shailesh Bhandary, Anil Kothary, Pranesh, Krishna Shetty, Kavitha, Shashi Shetty, Ashok Kutpadi, Valerian D'Souza, school headmistress Sandhya, school progress committee president Sathyavathi and others were present.

    Such noble work irrespective of caste creed and religion will always be done by the Congress Party for the community at large since our dear country got independence. Some political parties identify themselves with a particular religion and play the communal card for poltical gains.which is against the spirit of the constitution.
