Bengaluru, Jun 18: A police sub-inspector of Jeevanbimanagar police station here, and a writer attached to this station, were nabbed by a team of Anti Corruption Bureau on Friday June 17. They were reportedly caught redhanded when accepting Rs 6,000 as bribe for issuing certificates relating to rifle training.

People desirous of getting civilian rifle training have to produce certificate of good conduct and background verification certificate from the police stations of their jurisdiction. A citizen had applied to Jeevanbimanagar police station for these certificates on June 7. Reportedly, sub-inspector of the station, Srinivas, and writer, Purushotham, had demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 for these certificates. After discussions, the amount was scaled down to Rs 6,000.

The applicant thereafter complained to Anti Corruption Bureau. On Friday, a team led by Anti Corruption Bureau superintendent of police, Labhu Ram, launched an operation and caught Srinivas and Purushotham when accepting bribe. Case under Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against them.

Will stop only after 22 months when yeddy take in charge.
In other places bribe taking or giving come down in much extent.
It's after all effort of BJP idealogy and moreover of modiji.
People who stick to bribe taking are hate BJP much. Reason behind during congress rule..they poured bribe money on family members and are now become upset with the same. Cannot continue life without it..as it's now become habit.

If our police department and judicial system is strong, we can eradicate corruption. Our Police force should be well educated and happily serve the people. They should get very good incentives so that they are not going to be greedy. They should not haress the law abiding people.
There should be 10 to 15% service charge on all police services and fines and that should be distributed to the particular police department according to point system as per their ranks. Even when they catch smugglers, the department should be well rewarded from the booty.
Their job is risky and they should get proper hefty compensation when they get injured or lose their lives beside governments compensation.
