Chetna Dhadwal to lead Delhi in junior national football championship


New Delhi, June 27 (IANS): Promising mid-fielder Chetna Dhadwal will lead a 20-member Delhi under-19 girls team to take part in the junior national football championship to be held at Cuttack from July 1 to 17.

The Delhi Soccer Association (DSA) women's selection committee, comprising chairman Anju Luthura and convenor Mohd. Haneef on Monday named the side post the 15-day open selection-cum-coaching camp held at the CWG village sports complex here.

Young forward Anushka Samuel has been named Chetna's deputy for the tournament.

    We are really surprised that Karnataka is not sending its Junior team for the Nationals. It would have been a good opportunity for Karnataka players to play in the Nationals. Karnataka Junior team has done quite well in the previous Nationals.
