Mangaluru, Jul 8: After a private bus hit a scooter in front of a petrol bunk on Milagres Road here on Wednesday July 6, Sarfaraz Bava (31), Goa state secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami-e-Hind, lost his life.
Sarfaraz, currently settled in Goa, was on a visit to the home of his father-in-law at Bajal Pakkaladka on account of Eid. On travelling on his two-wheeler to Hampankatta, a private bus which came from behind hit his vehicle. Sarfaraz, who came under the wheels of the bus, suffered serious injuries. Although he was immediately carried to the district Wenlock Hospital, he breathed his last before reaching there.
Sarfaraz had planned to return to Goa on Wednesday and then to Gulf region after a few days. He is survived by a wife and son.
A case about the accident has been registered in the city (east) police station.
