Kasargod, Jul 17: In a tragic incident which occurred at Neerchalu Manya in the district on Saturday July 16 afternoon, a student drowned in the pond.
Shihab (18), a resident of Meepuguri village, died in this mishap. Shihab had ventured into the panchayat pond located at Shamshul Nagar in Manya along with three classmates, when tragedy struck.
After Shihab faced danger to life, those who were with him raised an alarm. Locals rushed to their help and brought Shihab out. However, by then he had lost his life.
A case relating to this incident was registered in Badiyadka police station. The personnel there have undertaken investigation.
