Mahila Morcha condemns "Congress goonda raj"
Meanwhile, BJP State Mahila Morcha has in a press statement strongly condemned the "goonda raj" being perpetrated by the Congress leaders and workers and the harassment of police and government officials in different parts of Karnataka."
The Morcha has threatened to launch a state-wide agitation against the tendency of Congress workers and functionaries of behaving as if they were above the law and acting as extra-constitutional authorities.
The latest incident of State Mahila Congress President Laxmi Hebbalkar threatening a police sub-inspector and preventing him from discharging his official duties at Belgaum was "nothing but intimidation, which is not only unacceptable but also highly condemnable."
The explanation given by Lakshmi Hebbalkar that "she was speaking on behalf of the people" is specious and unconvincing.
The issue is whether the trucks had valid permit or not but more of "threatening the police" and "summoning the SI to meet" and give explanation.
First, it was the then Labour Minister Parameshwar Naik, who humiliated Anupama Shenoy, DySP, Kudligi and got her transferred. Next, it was the local Congress workers in Kudligi who threatened and insulted Anupama Shenoy,. She resigned from the post in utter disgust and in a state of helplessness.
Next it was Mari Gowda, a Congress party functionary and a close confidante of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who ‘intimidated’ Mysore Deputy Commissioner Shikha. Now, it is Lakshmi Hebbalkar who has joined the list of infamous Congress workers who are in news for wrong reasons, the Morcha said.
BJP Mahila Morcha warns that it will adopt various modes of protests at different levels throughout the state against the goonda culture being exhibited by the Congress workers which has made the day-to- day life of officials miserable. The nature and form of protests to be carried out will be discussed with the party’s leadership and announced shortly.
