Mangaluru, Jul 19: The parent-teachers association general body meeting for the academic year 2016-17 of Bertrand Russell English Medium High School Baikampady was held at Lions Seva Mandir, Surathkal on Saturday July 16.

The programme began with a prayer. Nisha Laxman the correspondent of the school said that parents and teachers collectively must imbibe moral values and faith on God to their children. She also requested the parents to listen to their children and appreciate their activities. If found guilty, children must not be snubbed but instead be made to understand their mistakes and consequences ina positive way.

The vice-president of the school management Aboobakar NMPT said, “There is no age limit to achieve something in life and he quoted the life history of Colonel Sanders of KFC. He talked about the RTE and said that the school supports economically backward class parents in getting their children admitted under RTE.

Presiding over the function the president of Jawahar Educational Association, Aboobakar Kukkady advised the parents about the need to make their children speak the truth and that parents too should speak the truth in front of their children. The governing council members of the school management Hasan and Mohini Vasanth were present at the occasion. The executive members for the parent -teachers association was elected on the occasion. Diwakar Baikampady was elected as president of PTA for the year 2016-17. The headmistress of the school, Geetha presented the report of the PTA for the year 2015-16. Asst teacher Steffi welcomed the gathering, Mallika rendered the vote of thanks and Usha mastered the ceremony.
