Kundapur, Jul 24: A college student has ended her life by hanging from the window in bedroom on late night of Saturday, July 23 and the death note she left says that she took the extreme step as she did not get sufficient love from her family.

Pragathi Shetty (16) is the girl deceased. She is the second daughter of Ganesh Shetty the main singer (Bhagavatha) of Mandharthy Yakshagana Mela. She had studied in Morarji Desai residential school till her SSLC last year. She had just joined Bidkalkatte pre university Government College this year for her PUC in commerce.

She had a quarrel with a classmate on Friday and the parents were called to the college regarding the matter and Pragathi was counselled. She was hurt by the fact her parents shouted at her and this could have prompted her to end life, some locals said. But the college principal denied this.

But as per sources, the death note found in the house says that “My family did not love me. Only my younger sister was loved. When I lived in the Morarji residential school, they did not visit me much. Why should I live if I am not loved by my own family?"

The house where the family of Pragathi lived was constructed only a year back.

Kota police who arrived at the place took the body for post-mortem.

A case stands registered at Kota police station.

That age is very sensitive for all the children. Parents should understand this and no partiality between the children. Feel sad, young life is lost.

True unconditional Love is the basis of life, be it in family or society,. In todays materialistic world love of money sidelined all value in life... God is Love. Unless we are connected to Him, we do not experience Gods Love and it will not flow from us to others .. In 70's 80's our people were more happy in spite of poverty less materialist resources. Every second day we are hearing suicide by the youngsters. Heart breaking, Not digestible, un acceptable... May God give strength to the family to bear the loss of young life. Why so much frustrations, impatience, suicides now in spite of materially well-off? May wisdom prevail in our people /in the society and able to experience true Love/life in God and share to others.

RIP, unfortunate incident. Suicide was not the solution as she was entering adulthood and long future was ahead. Parents can not be changed if by nature they are not showing love towards children, may be they have enough love in thier heart but to keep children under control some parents show that they are very strict. But all for the good of their children. Whatever reason younger generation has to guided properly with examples as 60 80 people want to live more in spite of all the problems as death is not the solution to any thing. Live the life god has given like others as each and every one has their own problems

    Really shocking!!
Sometimes children will go back to a time when they were a bit naughty after suffering the lack of a parents love. It could be something miniscule that has amplified through grief.
May be think of something naughty that she did before her parents and forgive them for it until it sinks in that ‘it’s not their fault’.
If parents formed an equal relationship, love with their children then parents need to get to know their child’s feelings about it.
    May her soul RIP.

When we were in school/college we had a moral science period was compulsory for every one there our teachers used to teach us our responsibility in the house, class, society, and how to give respect and love our parents our schoolmates etc. They used to give us many examples telling stories so that we understand true meaning of love. Love is two dimension of a coin one side our face other side parents. Today our Pragathi may be not aware of this moral science education from her childhood and she should have very much aware that in her Shetty family giving a daughter in marriage means the parents whole life savings will be spent on the marriage she should have some consideration on her parents, now it is too late.RIP

So sad, may her soul rest in peace!
It's quite difficult to handle/ correct youngsters!
Nowadays, there are 1 or 2 children, generally they are pampered. So they become very delicate. Problem, when parents become responsible to correct their children, all depends, at times, how they take it!
It's difficult even to imagine the pain of parents!

What a Nonsense reason to die..Suicide is spreading like a viral fever in Karnataka now..People can't handle simple pressure at work place or at home...This girl who committed suicide does not know the meaning of love..First of all,she does not know what is life..and how difficult it is..I think, if she had thought about children who lost parents and their suffering, she would not have taken this extreme step.

Recently,I read one interesting story..One billionaire from Gujarat (Diamond Merchant) gave Rs.7000 to his young son who returned from USA after completing MBA..He told his son that he should go out of Gujarat and work anywhere in India for one month ,He ordered his son not to mention about Billionaire anywhere and use Rs.7000 only in emergency situations.Son came to Cochin(Kerala),He tried his best, after one week he got job in Bakery..earned Rs.4000,went back exactly after one month and paid his dad Rs.4000 salary and some amount he saved from Dad's pocket money..It became a main news in some news channels..When media asked him what did he learn ? Son said " I learned what is LIFE..How difficult it is..Thanks to my Dad who made me to realise truth of life..Father is the one who has his business in 70 countries..He gives flats, cars as bonus to his employees..Check in google to get more info..

Dear Disagree friends. I gave Billonaire dad and son example because I wanted to tell you that Son being a highly educated US Returned young man,did not mistake his father for rude father..Yes,he was surprised and confused, but he had to obey Dad's order, thinking that Dad might be having some other plan..Once son returned from Kerala with Rs.4000 salary and narrated his struggle, Dad said 'Now you got that precious experience which money can't buy'..I think 70 percent youngsters will not accept this type of challenge if their millionaire or billionaire dad asks them to do..They may fight with dad or leave home or commit suicide..

@Jaimini .B.Manipal,everything is ok by your example, but in this case of suecide case, the Girl was not mature enough to understand the rules of thisworld.she must have experienced sad moments at home,as she noted.Parents must have given more Attention to her younger sister than her,as happens in many houses.Parents thought of her good futuredidnt think it would hurt her.It must be a lesson for parents in future ,not to Show difference between children.Every child is different. Many are not Aware of it.sad ,heartfelt sympathy to the parents. They Need now Special sympathys.May her Soul rest in peace.

Wonderful example... yes i agree whatever you said is correct... but on my point of view the Billionaire son knew that his Father is billionaire.
And assume that he dint mention anywhere that he is a billionaire son.. and now he knew that if work or not working any how he is billionaire son.
So he just went on and he did his duty.. and he never bother about failure and winning because he knew he is a billionaire son, and do you think that his son will go again to do the same work !! (For your information the billionaire son said to media that he learned what is life.. and within one month he came to know that what is life .. Amazing ha ha ).. what’s wrong in that now !! Or what is right in that..!! as he want it to do that and he has done simple ...
