Kasargod, Jul 27: Relating to the case in which a man was accused of sexually exploiting his minor daughter, the first additional sessions court here has sentenced the father to ten years rigorous imprisonment.

The convict, Tommy Thomas from Balal Iriya here was also ordered to pay a fine of Rs 20,000 for this heinous act of incest.

The incident had occurred on June 7, 2015. The daughter of Tommy had stopped attending her school after she underwent this gory incident. The school representatives had visited her home to see what stopped her from coming to school. They were dumbfounded to find that the girl had undergone the horrible experience of sexual assault at the hands of her own father.

Police complaint was filed thereafter through the district child protection committee. Ambalattara police had registered the case and undertaken investigation.

Public prosecutor, Sudheer Melat, had appeared on behalf of the prosecution in the case.
