Udupi: Three auto passengers injured in auto-bus collision

Udupi, Jul 28: After a bus hit an auto rickshaw from behind at Kaup Polipu Junction on national highway 66 on Wednesday July 27 morning, three persons were injured.

The injured are Rajesh Poojary (37) from Kote village in Katapadi, Shakuntala (45) from Kote, and Susheela (65). They had come to Kaup to take part in Maripuje festival. The accident occurred when they were going back home.

Due to the impact of the accident the auto rickshaw toppled and was badly mangled. The auto passengers suffered serious injuries, and they were admitted into a private hospital in the city by an ambulance.

A case stands registered in Kaup police station. Policemen are continuing with their investigation into this accident.
