Puttur: Man living alone electrocuted when changing bulb

Puttur, Jul 28: Mathew Aprem (64), residing at Meenadi Batte in Renjilady village near Kadaba in the taluk died of electrocution late night on Tuesday July 26. The incident occurred at a farm house belonging to the late Issac Koodattumuriyil at Beerya in Aittur village.

Mathew was looking after the plantation belonging to Koodattumuriyil at Beerya. He was living alone in the farm house there. His body was found with his hands holding the holder of a bulb. It is believed that electric shocks immobilized him when he was trying to change the electric bulb.

Kadaba special tahsidar, B Lingaiah, Mescom assistant executive engineer, Suresh Kumar, junior engineer, Nagaraj, zilla panchayat member, P P Varghese. Kadaba police sub-inspector, Uesh Upplike and others visited the spot and assessed the situation.

The deceased is survived by wife and a daughter. A case about the incident was registered in Kadaba police station.
