Boating facility inaugurated at Mannu Palla lake

Udupi, Jul 31: District-in-charge minister Pramod Madhwaraj inaugurated boating facility at Mannu Palla Lake near Manipal here on Saturday, July 30.

After inaugurating the water sports, he said, “After a long time, this lake is opened for public. When I was elected as MLA of Udupi constituency, Rs 1.32 crores was spent on the development of this lake.”

“The management of this lake should pay Rs 2.30 lac per annum to City municipality council Udupi and they will maintain its cleanliness.”

Instructing developer Nagraj, he said, “No tourist should go boating without life jacket. It is the responsibility of management to safeguard the lives of tourists. Necessary precautionary measures have to be taken up before going for fun ride in boats.”

Lake developer, Nagraj said, “There are twelve boats for the entertainment of tourists. We are also planning to facilitate recreational activities along with developing the lake.”
