Mangaluru, Aug 1: Twenty two retired staff members including 3 principals, 5 college professors, 3 headmistresses 6 assistant teachers and 5 support staff of the institutions under the Apostolic Carmel, Karnataka Province were felicitated at the Provincial House Auditorium, St Ann’s Convent, here on July 30.

The programme began with a prayer service by the staff and students of Carmel School CBSE, here. Sister Carmel Rita provincial superior and Sister Edna Furtado the outgoing secretary of the Apostolic Carmel Educational Society honoured each one of them with a shawl, fruits and a garland appreciating their committed and dedicated service. A teacher representing their school/college also spoke about their outstanding qualities.

Sister Ida Barboza, the newly elected educational secretary welcomed the gathering. Sister Rachana, principal St Mary’s PU College, here compered the programme. Sister Maria Marilda, principal St Ann’s PU College, in the city proposed the vote of thanks. The programme ended with a sumptuous lunch.
