Mangaluru, Aug 1: Yuva Brigade in remembrance of seventeenth anniversary of Indian victory in Kargil war against Pakistan celebrated 'Kargil Vijay Divas' on July 26 by distributing sweets and exchanging greetings with Indian soldiers guarding the country at Kashmir snow hills.

The YHA group consisting of 12 trekkers from Dakshina Kannada district led by Yuva Brigade district co convener Vikram Nayak which had gone on Amarnath pilgrimage distributed sweets, greeting cards and Yuva Brigade mementos to Punjab regiment soldiers in 'Shesh Nag' and 'Panchatharani' camps at a height of 14,000 feet above sea level.

Speaking about the programmes taken up by Yuva Birgade that are conduciveto the army, Vikram Nayak said that there is no match for the sacrifice and bravery of the Indian soldiers. “You are guarding the
country even in the most difficult conditions. We are fortunate to have got an opportunity to celebrate 'Kargil Vijay Divas' with courageous soldiers," he said.

The camp commanding officer speaking on the occasion said that several soldiers have sacrificed their lives in Kargil war for the country. “Their sacrifices have enabled us to retain Kashmir with us. It is a
matter of pride to join the army. Joining the army does not only mean holding guns and fighting on the borders. The army also has ample opportunities to those who have completed professional courses such as engineering, medical etc. Youth should join the army in large numbers. The work of Yuva Brigade creating awareness among common people about the army is extremely commendable. May more youth from Karnataka join the army with the efforts of Youth Brigade. May India lead the world soon," he said. He also answered questions regarding the army and Kashmir.
