Mangalore Nov 28: Prabhakar Sharma, head quarters assistant to the DC informed here on Tuesday November 27 that a specially made exhibition Nirdhar Darshan that reveals the essence of the Quit India struggle will be held at the University college grounds in Hampankatta and will be open free for public viewing.

Speaking to media persons here, he said that the idea on Nirdhar Darshan took birth to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the first war on Indian independence, 100th birth anniversary of Shahid Bhagat Singh and 60th year of India’s independence.

This exhibition was   inaugurated on August 9 in Mumbai at a function held to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Quit India Movement. It began its journey on October 2 and is being taken around the country.

Since its essence is the Quit India Movement, Nirdhar Darshan depicts the Indian freedom struggle with various significant moments in its history and the sacrifice made by Indians. It contains various symbolic martyrs’ memorial sets, the walls of which are pasted with pictures of freedom fighters and panels in the form of book.

The project has been co-ordinated by Directorate of Cultural affairs of Government of Maharashtra and is funded by the Government of India, informs Sharma.
