Kundapur, Aug 8: A bike rider fell into a stream while avoiding a pothole on the road and subsequently died as a result. The accident happened on Sunday August 7, but only came to light on Monday morning.
Chandra Naik (35) from Altharu Yadthady is the person deceased.
Chandra worked as conductor cum loader in a lorry named ‘Vaidyanatha Prasanna’ from Yadthady. He was travelling on his Hero Honda bike on Sunday night towards his house from Shiriyar. When he reached Kalladi, he must have tried to avoid a pothole on the road, to fall into the stream besides the road, it is believed.
As the bike also fell into the stream with Chandra Naik, he could not get up from there, it is concluded.
Since he was not attended to, dead body of Chandra Naik was found on Monday morning.
A case stands registered at Kota police station.
