Puttur: One dies, another injured in car-tipper collision

Puttur, Aug 9: An accident involving a car and tipper truck at Koyanadu near Sampaje resulted in the death of an occupant of the car. Another person, who happens to be the Khateeb of a mosque, was seriously injured. The accident occurred on Monday August 8.

Ibrahim alias Muhammed Ashraf (36), son of Abbas, resident of Kadembila in Karaya village lost his life in this unfortunate accident. Abdurrashid Bakhavi, native of Madikeri and currently functioning as the Khateeb of Badriya Jumma Masjid at Karaya, suffered critical injuries. He stands admitted into K V G Hospital, Sullia.

A relative of Bhakhavi had undertaken Hajj pilgrimage, and a function in this connection was organized on Sunday at his home. Bakhavi had been to this programme in the company of Ibrahim in his car, and was returning to Karaya on Monday morning, when the accident occurred.

It is gathered that Muhammed Ashraf was employed in Imperial Hotel Bengaluru and had come to his home on holiday.
