Illegal cattle trafficking - five animals rescued, two held

Bantwal, Aug 11: A team of policemen from Vittal station raided a gang of illegal cattle traffickers at Mani Junction and took into possession a vehicle, two accused, four bullocks and a cow. The incident occurred on Wednesday August 10.

The arrested accused happen to be Shivashankar (27) and Santosh (30), residents of Arasikere.

The police team, which was busy streamlining the traffic on account of blocking movement of vehicles on the highway on account of gas tanker accident at Udane, got to know that five cattle were being transported into the district from Hassan in a violent manner.

The police team took the vehicle into custody and questioned its occupants. They were informed that the animals were being taken to Farangipet from the weekly market at Hassan.

A case was registered about this incident in Vittal police station and the accused were produced in the court.

    The animals are being taken from weekly market. Weekly market is O K but taking from weekly market is not O K. Why? Why?? Why???....Thank you and God bless each and every one of us
