Mangalore, Nov 30: The Mangalore Railway Development Action Committee (MRDAC) has decided to intensify the agitation demanding passenger train service between Mangalore and Bangalore if the advance booking of tickets for the new route were not commenced by December 2.

MRDAC convenor PV Mohan in a letter written to the senior divisional commercial manager of Southern Railway requested the authorities to start the advance booking at the earliest.

"The Railways is creating apprehension in the minds of people by not giving a clear picture of commencement of new train," he added.

Meanwhile, the relay hunger strike being carried out by the MRDAC entered the 18th day on Thursday. More than 100 special children from various schools in and around Mangalore including Sanidhya School, St Agnes Special School, Chethana Special School, Lions Special School and MV Shetty Special School were participated in the hunger strike.

Former minister BA Moideen, Bantara Yane Nadavara Mathru Sangha president Amarnatha Shetty and Federation of International Bants Associations president Ajith Kumar Rai Maladi have expressed their support to the strike.
