Shriyana secures runner up in state under 7 girls chess championship

Mangaluru, Aug 22: Derik’s Chess School talent six-year-old Shriyana Mallya has secured runner up in the State under 7 Girls chess championship organized by Mandya chess academy under the auspices of United Karnataka Chess association held at Gandhi Bhavan, Mandya from 19 to 21 August.




Shriyana scored 6 points in 7 rounds to bag the honour.
By this performance, she has been selected to represent Karnataka in the National under 7 Girls chess championship to be held at Puducherry during September.
Shriyana is studying in 1st standard in Lourdes Central School, Mangaluru and is daughter of Sandeep and Nandini S Mallya.
